On the 5th (Tuesday) Hanwha Power Systems and Korea District Heating Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Hannan") signed an MOU for mutual technical cooperation in the field of hydrogen-mixed gas turbines and long-term maintenance contracts.

Hannan is preparing to gradually convert the LNG gas turbine into a hydrogen hybrid turbine, an eco-friendly, high-efficiency power generation system, and is actively working to secure domestic technology for power generation facilities that have been highly dependent on technology from overseas manufacturers.

Hanwha Power Systems possesses the technology to design and produce high-temperature parts, which are key components for gas turbines. The company successfully demonstrated the world's first hydrogen mixture (60%) turbine in collaboration with its affiliate, PSM of the United States.

Through this agreement, the two companies will enhance collaboration in ▲ hydrogen-mixed gas turbine retrofit technology, ▲ gas turbine maintenance, and ▲ major components.

This is expected to contribute to laying the foundation for converting gas turbines into hydrogen turbines, aligning with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and improving the domestic competitiveness of gas turbine maintenance.

"This agreement will serve as a cornerstone for strengthening national competitiveness, expanding domestic market development through the shift to hydrogen gas turbines for carbon neutrality, and enhancing domestic technological independence," said Oh Se-min, head of Hannan Plant Technology.
